Douglas County Fair Floral Contest Review

Now that the pollen has settled, it’s time to recap the fun and ferocity that was the Colorful Seasons Floral Arranging Contest at the 2019 Douglas County Fair.

Thanks to Lynelle and the wonderful folks at Colorful Seasons, it was a fair fight for both groups of 12 competitors. The site was hallowed Harold Johnson Building.

Competitors all began with the same collection of flowers and greenery.  Each had 20 minutes to turn them into county fair gold.

In the end, two were left standing.  Your Reserve Champ, Jody Hanson from the Echo Press, and Grand Champion, free agent, Rosalie Ray.

I know what you’re thinking. “Woohoo, ladies.  Good job!  How did Shotgun do?”

I’m happy to report out of 12, mainly veteran gladiola gladiators, the rookie…in all honesty….took FIRST PLACE!!!!!!!! I repeat…FIRST PLACE…(two spots removed)…!!!!!!!!

Here is a shot of my breathtaking beauty.
