Driver Causes Crash, Injured While Fleeing Police Near Alexandria

Friday, July 15th, a driver on the interstate near Alexandria tried to flee law enforcement, and was seriously injured. State Troopers received a driving complaint and went to intercept the vehicle.  Barry Johnson, age 36 of Hollywood, South Carolina was traveling east on I94, refused to pull over and a chase ensued. He lost control, struck another vehicle, went into the ditch and rolled. He was transported to the St. Cloud hospital with life threatening injuries. Alcohol was believed to be a factor. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
