Emerald Ash Borer Found In Sauk Centre

After city workers in Sauk Centre noticed several trees that showed signs of Emerald Ash Borer damage.

The Minnesota Department of Agriculture examined the trees, collected samples and after confirming EAB, placed Stearns County under an emergency quarantine. The MDA is enacting the emergency quarantine to limit the movement of firewood and ash material out of the county. A total of 18 Minnesota counties, including Stearns, are now under a full or partial quarantine to prevent the spread of this highly destructive tree pest.
