It’s always a good time to give blood. Right now is better, especially if you are type O.
All types of blood are needed, but the Red Cross says they are critically low on O, the blood group most often used by emergency rooms in hospitals when there isn’t time to determine a person’s type. The current amount of O on hand is less than two days. With summer breaks beginning, high schools and colleges won’t be having blood drives and students account for around 20 percent of the supply from September to May.
Plus, anyone who comes in to donate between May 24-May 28, 2019 will get a Red-Cross T-shirt, while supplies last. Additional info is available at RedCrossBlood.org.
Also, rest assured…
To the best of our knowledge, “your blood will not be used in any ritualistic way, nor for cloning or to keep anything alive that never should have been born.”
