On Monday, July 11th , at 10:38 am, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call reporting a hay shed on fire at an address off Vermont Lake Access Rd. Dispatch paged Miltona Fire Department to the scene. On scene was a large Quonset shed, belonging to Jeff Boesl, Age 55, filled with large bales. Initial investigation suggested a spontaneous combustion in the center area of the shed. Miltona Fire requested assistance from the Parkers Prairie Fire Department. Together, they were able to safely extinguish the fire. The Miltona Fire Department, Parkers Prairie Fire Department, and the Parkers Prairie Ambulance Service assisted on scene.
