
Minnesota Congresswoman Ilhan Omar was arrested Tuesday, July 19th, during protests outside the U-S Supreme Court building The crowd was demonstrating against the decision by the justices to overturn the landmark Roe v. Wade ruling, leaving those decisions and policies to each state. Omar’s staff confirmed the arrest. U.S. Capitol Police tweeted that they arrested 35 people for blocking traffic, including 17 members of Congress.
Today I was arrested while participating in a civil disobedience action with my fellow Members of Congress outside the Supreme Court.
