DUE TO EXTREME WEATHER AND BLIZZARD CONDITIONS, THE POPE COUNTY COURTHOUSE AND NONEMERGENCY OFFICES ARE CLOSED ALL DAY ON THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 23, 2023.

The Pope County Sheriff’s Office has issued a no travel advisory in Pope County which continues this morning, February 23. County highway system plowing operations are delayed this morning due to low visibility, and will be attempted again later this morning.
With the National Weather Service predicting continued blizzard conditions on Thursday, February 23, 2023, non-emergency
offices at the Pope County Courthouse and other locations are closed during office hours (8:00 am to 4:30 pm).
Offices will reopen to the public on Friday, February 24, 2023. Pope County emergency operations will continue through the
