
On Monday, July 5th, at 11:51 a.m. the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office received a report of an explosion inside a residence in Holmes City. The home owner was the only occupant inside the home at the time, and reported he was injured by the explosion. Scott Bany, Age 62 of Alexandria, was treated on scene by EMS and was then airlifted from the scene by Life Link III for further medical treatment.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office arrived to assist with the investigation. Responding agencies include the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Alexandria Fire Department, North Memorial Ambulance and Life Link III. This case remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and DCSO.
