It seems that the moment a school bus hits the street, people start screaming about how it’s fall. Suddenly, everywhere I go, I see pumpkins, Halloween costumes, and closed-toe shoes.
So, I had to check…
It’s still summer. Siri said so.
Given that the cold and ice will most definitely come back to the Lakes Area sooner than later, I’m not sure why we wish away the end of summer. These waning days of the sunniest season may just be some of the best that the year has to offer.
This is my favorite time of year to be outside. It’s a great time of year for tenting or staying in a cabin. Generally, the campsites are less busy (if you can get away during the week – even less busy, since the kiddos are in school). The cooler, bordering on crisp, evenings make mosquitos less of a factor at your campfire. So, make a fire and eat some s’mores!
Enjoy these last few weeks of summer, don’t wish them away! Winter will be here soon enough, but it’s not here yet!
No matter if you tent it:
or live it up in a cabin:
Or just get away for a day:
taking a late summer Minnesota getaway is one of the best ways to make summer last!
Goodness knows Winter will be here soon enough.
