Several residents within in the City of Alexandria, as well as residents from across Douglas County have received phone calls this morning from someone claiming to be an officer from the Alexandria Police Department. The suspect told the resident they missed court, and there is now a warrant for their arrest. The suspect then asked for addresses, social security numbers, and other personal identifying information. The calls came from 320-763-6631, which is the actual non-emergency number for the police department.
We want everyone to know, it is not common practice, and we do not contact residents seeking their personal information, or notify them of missed court dates.
If you receive one of these calls, please contact the Law Enforcement Center and report the call. 320-763-6631
