Flights were abruptly canceled yesterday, Sunday March 13th, by Sun Country. Travelers said once their flights were canceled they had little to no help from the airline and they were stranded. The weather was the biggest factor for those leaving or going to Florida, however other Sun Country flights were canceled two hours prior to boarding. One local couple were forced to buy new plane tickets for nearly double the original cost for a flight over 24 hours later after being put hours on hold with representatives to no avail. The airline has not released why the cancellation.
Flights booked through another company must be dealt with that company. Flight insurance is highly recommended, for as little as $29, airlines can provide insurance to alleviate some stress and hassle if THEY cancel your flight or if other mishaps happen.
