Everyone sing! “We’re gonna’ win Twins, we’re gonna’ score.” So far, so good. The Minnesota Twins are scoring and they are winning. But nobody is seeing them do it in person.
At least not as many as saw them last season at this time. Probably everyone is staying home and listening to Cory Provus and Dan Gladden call the games on Cool 94.3. Struggling to get fans in the stands is a league-wide issue.
It’s like Yogi Berra said,
“If people don’t want to come out to the ballpark, how are you going to stop them?”
To their credit, the Twins are making an effort to boost Target Field visits.
Between 6 pm last night and 2 pm, the #MNTwins sold 20,000 tickets for their remaining 11 May home games on the $5 flash deal. They’re releasing 1,000 more per game for those 11 contests.
They have the best record in baseball and the best deal on tickets. The Twins are hoping that combo will result in this Yogi description being true of Target Field…I think:
“Nobody goes there anymore because it’s too crowded.”
Go (see the) Twins!!
