World War II Veteran’s Remains Return Home to Minnesota

After being missing in action for 77 years, yesterday a fallen World War II veteran’s remains were returned home to Minnesota. USS Oklahoma Radioman Third Class Dante Tini, 19, died December 7, 1941, during the early morning attack at Pearl Harbor.

Tini remained among the unidentified soldiers for 77 years.  Recently, the Navy requested a DNA test from one of Tini’s relatives, and it was from that test that the Navy was able to identify Tini.  

Tini’s funeral and burial with full military honors in will be held at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Virginia at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 25; the public is invited.
